Match Day 2 – 12/04/2008

Reserves

Well Saturday was our first home game of the season. Conditions were ideal from a player’s and a spectator’s point of view. Southern breakers were our opposition and they started with their normal running game. After taking 5 minutes to settle down to our possession game, we soon had control.

Our defence was rock solid, foiling Breakers’ attacks with ease. Our midfield dominated, and I am pleased to say they took defensive responsibility, which gave us the extra numbers coming out of defence. This gave us a lot of possession in our offensive build ups, which in turn caused the Southern Breakers to spend plenty of the game chasing us. Our control and passing was crisp, and players on the ball always had two options to distribute the ball to.

The second half was of the same nature as the first. With 20 or so minutes or so to go all of our hard work paid of when George Kaka took a controlled shot from one of our build ups, making it 1-0. The second came shortly after as George Kaka got the better of a one-on-one run with a defender. The festivities continued when Syed drove a nail in the Breaker’s coffin with a diving header. Final score 3-0. All in all it was our best performance to date.

I believe with our ongoing hard work we can only improve our performances. I congratulate the B Team for a well deserved win.

On a lighter note, we will be losing George Kaka’s services for a match due to his 10 day trial with Pattaya FC. On behalf of your coach and club, we hope you don’t come back with any rashes. Good luck and have fun mate.
