The second half of the season opened with perfect conditions for football. Blue skies and no cloud cover. The warm rays of the winter sun beamed down on Neill Road to lure Strathalbyn down the South Eastern Freeway to the home of FC Adelaide. It was a grudge match for the Reserves, after losing its only game thus far to this very side, and a chance for the First Team to continue the momentum gained after a solid performance in the round prior. It was back to business in Round 9 as the league resumed from the Cup round interruption. The Adelaide Hills painted the perfect backdrop for a good day of football as FC Adelaide met Old Ignatians on their home turf in the leafy Eastern suburbs. The muddy pitch meant two scrappy games but FCA proved the dominant side on the day with a thrilling draw for the First Team and a monumental win for the Reserves, cementing top spot at the mid-point of the season. The FCA Website has now been updated with a Merchandise page. There is a wide range of quality FC Adelaide gear available thanks to our sponsor FTM T-shirts.

Cosi will be handing out pamphlets and order forms at training on Thursday 6 June 2007. Order forms can also be downloaded from the Merchandise page.

Please note that these items will be produced on an order by order basis. The first order will be placed on Saturday 16 June 2007 (the day of the big Iggies game). To ensure your order is included in the first batch of merchandise produced, please ensure that Cosi gets your completed order form and payment by the due date.

After a string of games at home, Round 8 saw FC Adelaide travel to Drummond Avenue to face off against the Adelaide Cougars. This fixture had been billed as the “Battle of the Big Cats” and those who braved the cold and windy conditions were not disappointed. Two tight, edge-of-your-seat games were played out on this sunny winter’s day and it proved to be a season defining moment for the First Team, snatching a draw against the odds and the Reserves fought hard to come away with a win of epic proportions.
